General Info

I am a Ph.D student at the CICESE Research Center working within the Electronics and Telecomunications Department of the Applied Physics Division under the direction of Dr Gustavo Olague. I have received a Bachelors degree on Computer Engineering and a Masters degree in Computer Science from the Universidad Autónoma de Baja California and CICESE respectively.

Research

My Ph.D. work addresses the area of sensor planning for automated vision metrology. In particular, the problem of camera placement for a robotic workcell in an Eye-Hand configuration is approached under the Multi-objective (MO) optimization paradigm. In this way, we strive to provide a general framework which concurrently considers multiple qualitative aspects involved in the operation of an active vision system. In this respect, aspects such as 3D reconstruction accuracy, robot motion and computational costs are included in our planning as a set of independent criteria that are optimized concurrently. The ensuing optimization problem is addressed using evolutionary computation techniques.
