EvoVisión is an interdisciplinary research team based at CICESE in Ensenada in the Baja California. EvoVisión is part of the Computer Science Department of the Applied Physics Division. Evovisión's research focuses on evolutionary and bioinspired approaches to solve computer vision and robotics state of the art problems, such as 3D reconstruction, visual object recognition, scene interpretation, and brain modeling. Besides a profound knowledge of mathematical and physical methods, Computer Vision and Robotics need new theories to advance our understanding in the active vision scenario. We believe that the paradigm of artificial evolution is vital to achieving significant progress in robotic vision over the next few years by combining emerging bio-inspired approaches and evolutionary algorithms to classical computer vision approaches.
